中国自然辩证法研究会是为发展我国科学技术事业，促进社会主义现代化建设，由全国自然辩证法工作者和热心自然辩证法事业的自然科学工作者、工程技术工作者、科学管理工作者和哲学社会科学工作者自愿组成，依法登记的公益性、学术性的法人社会团体，是中国科学技术协会(CAST)的组成部分。

　　本会筹建于改革开放初期。著名经济学家于光远先生和科学家周培源、钱三强等提议成立中国自然辩证法研究会，在1977年12月12日召开的全国自然辩证法规划会议上通过，由中国科协申报。1978年1月2日，邓小平副主席及方毅等8位副总理批准同意。经过三年多的认真筹备，于1981年10月30日正式成立。历任理事长为于光远、龚育之、朱训、吴启迪。现任理事长为国家自然科学基金委员会原副主任何鸣鸿。

　　40多年来，自然辩证法学科在于光远、龚育之等老一辈专家学者的导引下，研究领域遍及自然哲学、科学哲学、技术哲学、工程哲学和科学技术方法论等基础研究，囊括数学哲学、物理哲学、化学哲学、地学哲学、医学哲学、生物哲学等应用研究，包括科学社会学、科学技术与社会(STS)、科学伦理学、生态哲学、环境哲学、经济哲学，以及各个产业、行业领域的一些哲学、方法论、科技政策、发展战略等。本会从交叉学科的特点出发，努力加强自然科学工作者与社会科学工作者的联盟，特别在坚持实事求是、解放思想，弘扬科学精神，反对迷信和伪科学，促进社会主义物质文明、精神文明、政治文明、生态文明建设，推动新时期和谐社会建设诸方面有积极和突出的贡献。

　　中国自然辩证法研究会坚持民主办会，实行会员制;最高决策权在会员代表大会。全国各省、自治区、直辖市有27个自然辩证法研究会，现有8个工作委员会和39个专业委员会。

　　中国自然辩证法研究会于1996年加入国际科学史和科学哲学联合会(IUHPS)逻辑学方法论科学哲学分会(DLMPS)，是该会的国家会员。2007年8月9日至8月15日在北京友谊宾馆，与相关单位和组织联合主办召开了“第13届国际逻辑学、方法论与科学哲学大会”(The 13th International Congress of Logic, Methodology, and Philosophy of Science)。

　　本会主办的刊物有《自然辩证法研究》、《医学与哲学》，内部刊物《工作通讯》，委托主办的刊物有《科学技术哲学研究》。

The brief introduction 

      theThe Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature (or Philosophy of Nature, Science and Technology) (CSDN), as a part of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology (CAST), is a registered public corporation and academic organization in order to develop Chinese scientific and technological undertakings. It is built up voluntarily by the operators in the circle of Dialectics of Nature (DN) and the staff members who are enthusiastic about DN and working in natural science, engineering and technology, administration of science, and social science.

　　The Establishment of CSDN was first proposed by some famous scientists at the beginning of 1978, then reported by CAST and finally approved by leaders including Mr. Deng Xiaoping. In October 1981, it convened the first National Congress and appointed Mr. Yu Guangyuan as the first board chairman. Later, he was reappointed to be the second one. On July 17, 1992, Mr. Gong Yuzhi was appointed as the third chairman of the board of directors in the third National Congress in Beijing, who was reappointed to be the fourth one. On Feb. 21 ,2001, Mr. Zhu Xun took the chair in the fifth National Congress in Beijing and then served another term. On April 22, 2012, CSDN held the seventh National Congress and Mr. Wu Qidi was appointed as the seventh chairman of the board. On October 27,2018 ,CSDN held the eighth National Congress and Mr. He Minghong was appointed as the eighth chairman of the board.

　　CSDN, whose power of decision-making depends on the National Congress of Members, adheres to the principle of the democratic ways of running and puts the member system into practice. The eighth council incumbency has 144 directors, 46 managing directors with 8 working committees and 39 specialty committees at a lower level. Almost every province and city and autonomous region has its own society for dialectics of nature all over the country. CSDN joined the DLMPS of the International Union of the History and Philosophy of Science (IUHPS) as a national member in 1986.

　　CSDN searches after the universal law in nature and the development of science and technology in the direction of Marxism Philosophy. The subject field not only spreads all over basic research including philosophy of nature, philosophy of science, philosophy of technology, philosophy of engineering, methodology of science and technology, etc., but also covers applied research including philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of physics, philosophy of chemistry, philosophy of astronomy, philosophy of geography, philosophy of medicine, philosophy of biography, philosophy of system, etc. Moreover, it extends to the following areas as far as sociology of science, Science, Technology and Society (STS), ethics of science, philosophy of ecology, philosophy of environment, philosophy of economics, the policy of science and technology, the stratagem of development and the methodology of various profession and domain, etc.

　　CSDN aims at advocating scientific and technical staffs to study and research Marxism as well as applying it to social practice; promoting the alliance between natural science and social science; and serving the development of science, technology, economy and society. For more than 30 years, CSDN has made prominent contributions to seeking truth from facts, emancipating the mind, advancing the reformation and opening, carrying forward the modernization, expanding the spirit of science, fighting against the superstition and pseudo-science.

　　The two periodicals, Studies in Dialectics of Natureand Medicine and Philosophy, whose responsible institution is CAST, are sponsored by CSDN and published in Beijing and Dalian respectively. The other two periodicals: Journal of Dialectics of Natureis edited and published by the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Science; Philosophy of Science and Technology is edited by Shanxi University with the entrust of CSDN. The magazines mentioned above have given great play to achievements presentation, academic exchange, personnel training, and the construction of the subject of DN.
